Happy New Year!
I suspect your day includes a little bit of dreaming about 2014 so I thought I’d try to inspire you to create a Vision Board.
A vision board is a pictorial collage of the things you want to accomplish, achieve, or become – personally or professionally.
The goal is to be specific about what you want to achieve so that your subconscious actions and beliefs align with your stated vision.
To create your vision board:
- Determine what you want. (Be clear. Precision is important to your subconscious.)
- Find images, words, or objects that represent your desires/goal.
- Display your collection where you’ll see it daily.
Vision Boards are also called inspiration boards, goal boards, or dream boards…and the principle is as old as the Bible:
In Genesis, Abraham was told by God to look at the stars (Gen 15:5) and look at the land (Gen 13:14-15) to visualize his divine inheritance; and Jacob used a very unique vision board where the sheep mated to change the color of their offspring! (Genesis 30:25-43) How wild is that!?!
I pinned several Vision Board ideas and tips for you on Pinterest.
I posted a lot of ideas including traditional poster and cork boards, journals/books, digital apps, Photoshop techniques, and even online software. You can even create your vision board in Pinterest. (Hint: You may want to keep your vision board secret, which is an option in Pinterest).
No matter where you build it, just remember to keep your vision where you’ll see it frequently.
What about you? Have you created a vision board before? Will you this year? Share below:
